Dr Tony Hands is one of the most experienced and talented Endodontists in the South West.
Tony qualified from Birmingham University in 1997. He has spent the last 20 years in the Royal Navy as a Dental Officer serving in both shore establishments and at sea looking after the dental health of HM Armed Forces. During this time he has gained Membership to the Joint Dental Faculties in 2008 and completed a Masters Degree in Endodontics from the Eastman Dental institute in 2013. He has acted as an Educational Supervisor for the Foundation Dental Training of newly qualified dentists and attained a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education from the Peninsula University. Since attaining his Masters Degree four years ago, Tony almost exclusively spends his time completing complex root canal treatments for members of the Armed Forces who are referred to him from across the UK.
We are extremely fortunate to have Tony working with us. Patients are typically referred to Tony from both NHS and private practices for complex root canal treatments such as re-root canal treatments (where initial root canal treatment has failed), for the removal of broken instruments, and apicectomies. As one would expect all treatments are completed under an operating microscope and thermal obturation systems are used as standard.
