What To Expect During your Dental Hygiene appointment

Questions About Dental Hygiene
Here are some of the common questions we’re asked about Dental Hygiene. All of our treatments are tailored to suit your individual needs. Because of this we often recommend a consultation with one of our dental team if you’re considering any treatments, so we can assess and advise the best options available to you. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us.
Routine hygiene appointments start from £95 and are included in some of our membership plans. View the full dental price guide here to see the cost of dental treatments.
It is recommended to visit your dentist at least twice a year for a routine check-up and professional cleaning. However, some individuals may need more frequent visits depending on their oral health needs, such as those with a history of gum disease or frequent cavities.
To prevent gum disease, maintain good oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily, use an antibacterial mouthwash, and avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Eating a balanced diet and limiting sugary snacks can also help. Regular dental visits are crucial for early detection and management of gum disease. If you notice symptoms such as red, swollen, or bleeding gums, contact your dentist promptly for evaluation and treatment.
What is a dental hygiene treatment like?
Our dental hygienists will help create and tailor an ongoing treatment plan. This is designed for both at-home care and here with us at the practice, and is built around your own set of oral health care needs. We will ask you about your current at-home dental care routine, diet and lifestyle, and offer advice on how it could be improved for your particular situation.
Your dental hygiene appointment is also a chance for our skilled hygienists to thoroughly examine the gums and the structures that support the teeth. This is to help identify, prevent, protect, and in some cases treat them for gum disease. There will also be a full cleaning of the gums and teeth, finishing off with a polish so that you leave the practice with a healthy, happy looking smile.

Why Choose Us For Your Hygiene Treatment
We have recently upgraded our hygiene appointments with the installation Airflow – Air Flow uses a fine spray of warmed water and Erythritol PLUS powder to gently deep clean the tooth surface above and below the gumline. This minimally invasive technology is safe to use on all oral surfaces and difficult to reach paces: enamel, dentine, soft tissues, restorations, orthodontic appliances and implants.
