Treatments are tailored to suit your individual needs and the cost of treatment will vary depending on a number of factors, such as complexity and your individual needs.

The main types of orthodontic treatments include:

  • Traditional Metal Braces: Metal brackets and wires that are bonded to the teeth and adjusted periodically to straighten teeth.
  • Ceramic Braces: Similar to metal braces, but with tooth-coloured or clear brackets that are less noticeable.
  • Invisalign: Removable, transparent trays that gradually move teeth into the desired position.
  • Retainers: Used after braces or aligners to maintain the new position of the teeth.

Your orthodontist will recommend the best type of treatment based on your specific needs and preferences.

During orthodontic treatment, you can expect:

  • Initial Consultation: Your orthodontist will evaluate your teeth and jaw, take X-rays and impressions, and develop a treatment plan.
  • Application of Braces/Aligners: Placement of braces or fitting of aligners, along with instructions on how to care for them.
  • Regular Adjustments: Periodic visits to adjust braces or receive new sets of aligners, typically every 4 to 8 weeks.
  • Oral Hygiene Guidance: Specific instructions on maintaining oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and avoiding certain foods.
